Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Learn and assist with the monitoring and control of water treatment plant processes, including filtration, disinfection, and chemical application.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and analyses of water samples to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment under supervision.
- Record operational data, readings, and observations accurately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs.
- Assist certified operators with daily plant operations and troubleshooting.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and monitoring systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
- Post-secondary education in a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry or biology.
- Interest in environmental science or public health.
