Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trenchless Technology Technician to join our infrastructure division in Gosford. This role is crucial for executing trenchless construction and rehabilitation projects, which involve methods like horizontal directional drilling (HDD), pipe bursting, and CIPP lining. As a Trenchless Technology Tech, you will play a vital role in operating and maintaining specialized equipment, ensuring the successful and efficient completion of projects while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. You will work on various sites, contributing to essential infrastructure development and maintenance across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain specialized trenchless technology equipment, including HDD rigs, pipe bursting equipment, and CIPP lining systems.
- Assist with site preparation, including setting up equipment, safety barriers, and managing materials.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot minor issues during operations.
- Conduct pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Perform manual labor tasks as required, including digging, hauling, and trenching.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team members.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, equipment usage, and materials.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery or specialized construction equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project plans.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Current Driver's License (e.g., HR, HC, or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and demanding environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Civil Construction).
- Experience specifically with trenchless technologies (e.g., HDD, pipe bursting, CIPP).
- First Aid certification.
- White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- Experience with GPS/survey equipment.
