Job Description
Join Okanagan College as an Alumni Relations & University Giving Intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in higher education advancement, focusing on cultivating relationships with alumni and supporting fundraising initiatives. You will contribute to meaningful projects that enhance our college’s connection with its past students and secure resources for future growth. This is an entry-level position perfect for a motivated student or recent graduate eager to learn and make a tangible impact. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing alumni engagement events and activities.
- Support the creation of alumni communications, including newsletters and social media content.
- Conduct research on alumni profiles and potential donors.
- Help maintain the alumni and donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to the development of fundraising materials and campaigns.
- Provide administrative support to the Alumni Relations and University Giving teams.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute fresh ideas for engagement strategies.
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated interest in higher education, non-profit work, or community engagement.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CRM software or database management is a plus (training will be provided).
- Experience with social media platforms for professional use.
