No prior formal grooming experience is required – we provide comprehensive training! As a Dog Grooming Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our furry clients while supporting our experienced groomers. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting professional dog groomers with various tasks, including preparing dogs for grooming, bathing, and drying.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic grooming salon environment at all times.
- Ensuring the comfort and well-being of all dogs in our care, providing gentle handling and reassurance.
- Interacting positively with pet owners, offering a warm welcome and assisting with check-ins/check-outs.
- Learning and adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices in animal handling.
- Performing general salon duties, such as laundry, tidying, and restocking supplies.
Required Skills
- A genuine love for animals, especially dogs, and a desire to work closely with them.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (e.g., larger dogs), and handle active animals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with both pets and people.
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some previous experience caring for animals, either professionally or through volunteering/pet ownership.
- Basic understanding of different dog breeds and their characteristics.
- Any relevant certifications, such as pet first aid.
