Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Catering Van Driver to join our team in Sheffield. This role involves the safe and timely delivery of catering orders to various event locations across Sheffield and the surrounding areas. You will be responsible for ensuring that all food and equipment arrive in perfect condition, maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service at all times. A clean driving license is essential, and familiarity with food handling procedures is a plus. This is a crucial role in our operation, ensuring our clients receive their catering flawlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually deliver catering orders and equipment to various event venues.
- Assist with loading and unloading catering vans, ensuring items are secured properly.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations during transport and delivery.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working order of the company vehicle.
- Plan efficient delivery routes and manage time effectively to meet schedules.
- Represent the company professionally during interactions with clients at drop-off points.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or delivery discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with basic kitchen or packing duties during quieter periods, if required.
Required Skills
- Full, valid UK Driving License with a clean record.
- Proven experience in driving light commercial vehicles (vans).
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Sheffield and surrounding areas.
- Ability to lift and carry catering boxes and equipment.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in catering delivery or multi-drop delivery.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
- Familiarity with event venues and corporate locations within Sheffield.
