Job Description
Join FedEx Freight as a Trainee Forklift Driver and embark on a rewarding career path! We are offering a full-time position with fully funded forklift license training for motivated individuals with no prior experience. In this role, you will be trained to safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, load, and unload freight within our busy terminal. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all training programs to obtain and maintain a forklift operator's license.
- Learn to safely operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading trailers, ensuring freight is handled with care.
- Move and organize freight within the terminal according to established procedures.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment checks and report any maintenance issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- No prior forklift experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
- Strong commitment to safety and following instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or industrial environment is a plus, but not required.
- Understanding of basic safety principles.
