Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Greengrocer Hand to join our team for part-time morning shifts at our Bendigo store. This vital role involves maintaining the presentation and freshness of our fruit and vegetable department, ensuring our customers always have access to top-quality produce. You’ll be part of a friendly team, helping to create an inviting shopping experience and contributing to the store’s success.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, rotate, and display fresh fruit and vegetables according to store standards.
- Ensure all produce is fresh, clean, and properly priced.
- Assist customers with their inquiries and provide recommendations on produce.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in the greengrocer section.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Operate essential equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, trolleys).
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving stock up to 15-20kg.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment, particularly with fresh produce.
- Knowledge of different types of fruits and vegetables.
- Current Food Handling Certificate.
