Job Description
Join DaVita Kidney Care as a Dialysis / Renal Nurse in Oxnard, CA, where you will play a crucial role in providing life-sustaining treatment and comprehensive care to patients suffering from end-stage renal disease. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to manage the dialysis treatment process, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site position. Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' conditions before, during, and after dialysis treatments.
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments according to established protocols.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
- Educate patients and their families on kidney disease, dialysis treatment, and self-care practices.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with nephrologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Manage and troubleshoot dialysis equipment during treatments.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate patient care as needed.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (or ability to obtain).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in acute or chronic dialysis.
- Experience with vascular access management.
