Job Description
Teledyne Technologies is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Simi Valley, CA. This pivotal role involves ensuring the successful setup, testing, and optimization of complex systems and equipment, primarily within our advanced manufacturing and engineering facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans and procedures for industrial systems and equipment.
- Perform rigorous testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Document all commissioning activities, test results, and system parameters accurately.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase, proposing effective solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of control systems, PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), and HMI interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation, sensors, and actuators.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profibus).
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61511).
- Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
