Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex medical laboratory tests in various areas including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and blood banking.
- Analyze and interpret test results, correlating findings with patient history and clinical conditions.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper calibration.
- Adhere to strict quality control and assurance protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
- Prepare specimens for testing, ensuring proper identification and handling.
- Document all testing procedures, results, and quality control activities accurately and completely.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide critical information for patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with laboratory best practices and regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
- ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in performing a broad range of clinical laboratory tests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility for U.S. work authorization and a commitment to completing the visa sponsorship process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience with various Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Specialized experience in one or more laboratory disciplines (e.g., Microbiology, Blood Bank).
