Job Description
We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Director of Nursing to lead our dedicated nursing teams in Surrey, British Columbia. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall operational management, strategic planning, and quality improvement of nursing services within one of our major healthcare facilities. The successful candidate will foster a culture of excellence, compassion, and continuous learning, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all nursing services.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing programs and services to meet patient needs and organizational goals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, professional practice guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of nursing professionals, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departmental leaders and stakeholders to ensure integrated and seamless patient care.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
- Participate in policy development and strategic planning for the healthcare facility and the broader health authority.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring ethical considerations and patient rights are upheld.
Required Skills
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a complex healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams of nursing professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Proven financial management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Certification in Nursing Leadership or Healthcare Management.
- Experience with large-scale change management initiatives.
