Job Description
Are you a compassionate and empathetic individual looking to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life? Comfort Keepers of York, PA, is seeking dedicated Caregivers and Companions to provide essential support to our senior clients. No prior certification is required to start, as we believe in fostering talent and providing comprehensive training for motivated individuals. This role offers flexible hours, allowing you to create a schedule that fits your life while providing invaluable service to our community members. As a Caregiver/Companion, you will assist clients with daily activities, offer companionship, and help them maintain their independence and quality of life at home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage in stimulating activities with clients.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding.
- Accompany clients to appointments and run errands.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety.
- Medication reminders.
- Observe and report any changes in client's condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized client environment.
Required Skills
- Genuine compassion and empathy for others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and daily tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional) is a plus, but not required.
- First Aid and CPR certification (will provide training if not certified).
