Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architecture Draftsperson to join our growing team in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software, working closely with architects and project managers. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) from sketches, specifications, and instructions.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
- Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established drafting standards and project requirements.
- Organize and maintain a comprehensive library of drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as required to gather information or resolve design issues.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in architectural drafting principles and standards.
- Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and architectural detailing.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in architectural drafting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Enscape).
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Canada.
