Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Wildlife Rescue Center Laborer. This vital role is centered around maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our rescued animals and staff. While the work is physically demanding and involves significant heavy cleaning tasks, it offers immense personal satisfaction knowing you are directly contributing to the well-being and recovery of wildlife. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to make a difference, regardless of prior direct experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and consistent cleaning and sanitization of animal enclosures, crates, and common areas.
• Handle and dispose of animal waste, soiled bedding, and other refuse following strict biohazard protocols.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, scrubbers, and disinfectants.
• Clean and disinfect food preparation areas, storage facilities, and staff amenities.
• Assist with general facility maintenance, including grounds keeping, sweeping, mopping, and minor repairs.
• Launder and organize bedding, towels, and other animal care linens.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to supervisors.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and animal welfare guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with animal care staff to ensure a clean environment supports rehabilitation efforts.

Required Skills

• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in an environment with animals and handling animal waste.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a physically demanding role, such as landscaping, cleaning services, or warehouse work.
• Experience in an animal care setting or with large-scale cleaning operations.
• Demonstrated passion for animal welfare and conservation.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
