Job Description
Join our dynamic team at Alamo City Roasters as a Production Assistant! This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and reliable individual to contribute to the daily operations of our coffee roastery. You’ll be involved in various stages of the coffee production process, from green bean handling to packaging and shipping. Key Responsibilities
- Assist roasters with daily production tasks, including weighing, loading, and monitoring coffee beans.
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment, ensuring accurate labeling and sealing of roasted coffee.
- Manage inventory of green coffee beans, roasted coffee, and packaging materials.
- Prepare orders for shipping, including picking, packing, and generating shipping labels.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Perform quality control checks on roasted beans and packaged products.
- Receive and unload raw materials and supplies.
- Support the roasting team with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work early morning shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Basic math skills for weighing and inventory management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with coffee production processes or a passion for coffee.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
