Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Store Manager to lead our team in Gateshead. As the Store Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operational management and commercial success of the store. This includes driving sales, managing stock, ensuring excellent customer service, and developing your team. You will be a hands-on leader, inspiring your staff to achieve targets while upholding Next’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate the store team to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
- Oversee all aspects of store operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and compliance with company policies.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered consistently.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage store budgets, control costs, and optimise profitability.
- Implement marketing and promotional strategies effectively.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness, and health & safety.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in retail management, preferably in fashion or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A passion for customer service and exceeding expectations.
- Sound commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proficiency in retail management software and POS systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Retail Management or a related field.
- Experience with visual merchandising best practices.
- First Aid qualification.
- A track record of successfully driving sales and improving store performance.
