Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Elevator Shaft Cleanup Laborer to join our team in Kissimmee. This critical role involves performing thorough cleaning and maintenance tasks within elevator shafts and associated mechanical spaces, which often includes working at significant heights and in confined environments. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to adhering to strict safety protocols. Full training on specialized equipment and safety procedures for working at heights and in confined spaces will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cleaning of elevator pits, hoistways, and machine rooms, including removing debris, dust, and grime.
- Operate specialized cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all company and OSHA safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, fall protection, and confined space entry protocols.
- Inspect work areas for potential hazards and report them to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Undergo and successfully complete all required safety training and certifications for working at heights and in confined spaces.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow strict safety guidelines and procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and reaching.
- Comfortable working in environments that require personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to thoroughness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a general labor, construction, or industrial cleaning role (e.g., 6 months).
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Valid driver's license.
