Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in Coventry. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and big data technologies. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytical solutions that address complex business challenges. This role requires a strong ability to translate business questions into technical requirements, guide junior team members, and communicate sophisticated findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of data science projects, from problem definition to model deployment and monitoring.
- Design and implement advanced machine learning models, predictive analytics, and statistical algorithms.
- Perform complex data analysis, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to support client objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into production systems and ensure scalability.
- Mentor junior data scientists, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and technical skills.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies.
Required Skills
- Expertise in Python or R for data analysis and machine learning.
- Strong proficiency with SQL and experience working with large datasets.
- Extensive experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
- Proven ability to clean, transform, and prepare complex data for analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment and lifecycle management.
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
