Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior VFX Artist to join our growing team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for aspiring VFX professionals eager to learn and contribute to exciting projects. You will work closely with our experienced artists, gaining hands-on experience across various stages of the VFX pipeline, from concept to final render. We are committed to providing comprehensive training and mentorship to help you develop your skills and advance your career in the visual effects industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior VFX artists in various tasks, including roto, paint, matchmove, compositing, and 3D asset creation.
- Learn and effectively apply new software, tools, and techniques under guidance.
- Contribute to the creation of visual effects elements, ensuring they meet project specifications and artistic direction.
- Organize and maintain visual asset libraries and project files.
- Participate in daily reviews and team meetings, offering creative input and receiving constructive feedback.
- Ensure timely delivery of tasks, adhering to production schedules and quality standards.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for visual effects and the entertainment industry.
- Basic understanding of at least one major VFX software (e.g., Nuke, Houdini, Maya, Blender).
- A demonstrated artistic eye and understanding of fundamental design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
- A portfolio showcasing personal projects, academic work, or relevant artistic endeavors.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Animation, Visual Effects, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
- Basic knowledge of rendering concepts and render farm management.
- Exposure to real-time engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience in a creative field.
