Job Description
We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Mushroom Pickers at our indoor farm in Newman, CA. This is a full-time, year-round position offering stable employment in a controlled environment. No prior experience is required, as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure your success. Key Responsibilities
- Carefully harvest mushrooms by hand, ensuring minimal damage and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify and pick mushrooms at optimal ripeness according to size and grade specifications.
- Place harvested mushrooms into appropriate containers for weighing and packing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the growing rooms.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work efficiently and accurately to meet daily production targets.
- Report any issues with mushroom quality or growing conditions to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a warm, humid indoor environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production or agricultural setting (not required, but a plus).
- Basic understanding of English or Spanish (for safety and team communication).
