Job Description

Fulton Hogan is excited to offer a unique opportunity for aspiring civil engineers to gain invaluable paid site experience as a Cadet Civil Engineer in Joondalup, Western Australia. This role is designed for individuals currently studying or recently graduated, who are eager to kick-start their career in civil engineering. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and developing a strong foundational understanding of construction processes, site management, and engineering principles. Full training and mentorship will be provided, ensuring a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project engineers and managers with day-to-day site operations.
  • Conduct site observations and basic data collection.
  • Learn and apply quality assurance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Assist with the interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation and reports.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks as required to support the project team.
  • Gain practical experience in various aspects of civil construction.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Civil Engineering degree or diploma.
  • Strong eagerness to learn and develop practical engineering skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles (from academic studies).
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Proactive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid C-Class Australian Driver's License.
  • Prior exposure to a construction environment (e.g., volunteer work, brief internships).
  • Proficiency in basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
