Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Corporate Event AV Setup Crew member! This role involves traveling to various event locations, primarily within hotels and conference centers, to set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment. You’ll be a crucial part of ensuring seamless technical execution for a wide range of corporate events, presentations, and conferences. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, enjoy hands-on work, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to start a career in event technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, load, and unload audio-visual equipment to and from various event sites.
- Set up and strike AV equipment including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, lighting, and video conferencing systems.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and operation of AV equipment during events as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures for all equipment handling and setup.
- Work collaboratively with event managers, clients, and other crew members to ensure successful event execution.
- Maintain and inventory AV equipment, reporting any damages or missing items.
- Represent the Hilton Roanoke Conference Center professionally at all times.
- Travel to different event locations as required, which may include overnight stays.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment assembly.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hands-on, labor-intensive role.
- Familiarity with basic audio-visual concepts or electronics.
- Customer service experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
