Job Description
The Université de Moncton is seeking an experienced and dynamic Athletic Director / Head Coach to lead our premier athletic programs and spearhead international sponsorship initiatives. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader with a passion for sports, a strong understanding of athletic administration, and a proven track record in coaching and program development. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our athletic department, managing coaching staff, developing student-athletes, and significantly contributing to the financial sustainability and growth of our programs through strategic international sponsorships.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall administration and operations of the university's athletic department.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive athletic programs for student-athletes.
- Recruit, mentor, and supervise coaching staff, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism.
- Lead fundraising efforts and secure international sponsorships to support athletic initiatives.
- Manage athletic budgets, facilities, and equipment effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all university, provincial, and national athletic regulations and policies.
- Act as a Head Coach for a specific sport (e.g., soccer, basketball), depending on expertise and departmental needs.
- Promote academic success, sportsmanship, and personal development among student-athletes.
- Represent the university in provincial, national, and international athletic forums.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in athletic administration or coaching at a collegiate or professional level.
- Demonstrated success in securing sponsorships or fundraising for athletic programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex budgets and operations.
- Deep understanding of national and international athletic regulations.
- Fluent in French and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Proven experience working with international student-athletes or international partners.
- Certification as a Head Coach in a recognized sport.
- Experience with collegiate athletic recruitment processes.
