Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cabinet Maker / Carpenter to join our growing team in Aberystwyth. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional looking to relocate to the UK, as we offer full Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship for the right candidate. You will be instrumental in crafting bespoke furniture, cabinetry, and architectural joinery, working with a variety of materials and designs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, a deep understanding of woodworking principles, and a passion for creating high-quality finished products that exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to construct high-quality bespoke cabinets and furniture.
- Select and prepare appropriate timber and other materials for projects.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively (e.g., saws, planers, routers, chisels).
- Assemble components accurately, ensuring precision joints and finishes.
- Perform sanding, finishing, and polishing tasks to a high standard.
- Install completed cabinetry and joinery on-site when required.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, project managers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience as a Cabinet Maker or Carpenter.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Expertise in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools safely.
- Strong understanding of joinery techniques and construction methods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Bench Joinery, Cabinet Making, or Wood Occupations.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software for woodworking.
- Knowledge of various timber types and their characteristics.
- Experience with on-site installation of bespoke joinery.
