Job Description
Are you a compassionate individual looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? Home Instead Senior Care of Santa Rosa is seeking caring and reliable individuals to join our team as Caregivers/Companions. This is a unique opportunity for those new to the caregiving field, as no prior certification or experience is required to start – we provide comprehensive, paid training! You’ll provide essential non-medical support, companionship, and assistance with daily living activities for seniors in their homes, allowing them to maintain their independence and enjoy a higher quality of life. We offer flexible scheduling options to fit your lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage in stimulating activities with clients.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, tidying common areas, and making beds.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Assist clients with safe transfers and mobility.
- Run errands and provide transportation to appointments (if applicable and agreed upon).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized client environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the Home Instead office team.
Required Skills
- Genuine compassion and empathy for seniors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist with client mobility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience, formal or informal, caring for a senior loved one.
- CPR/First Aid certification (will provide training if not current).
- High school diploma or GED.
