Job Description
Join ABM Industries as a City Graffiti Removal Technician and play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of Cleveland’s urban landscape. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are self-motivated, enjoy working independently, and are passionate about contributing positively to their community. We provide all the necessary tools and equipment, including a company-provided van, so you can focus on making a tangible difference. Full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel, making this an ideal entry-level position for dedicated individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company-provided vehicle to travel to designated graffiti removal sites throughout Cleveland.
- Identify and assess graffiti, selecting appropriate removal methods and chemicals for various surfaces (e.g., brick, concrete, metal, glass).
- Operate power washing equipment, paint applicators, and other specialized tools to effectively remove graffiti.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and environmental regulations when handling chemicals and operating machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including locations, types of graffiti, and materials used.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and the company vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress, challenges, and supply needs.
- Represent ABM Industries professionally and courteously to the public.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols for chemical handling and equipment operation
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor work, general labor, or facilities maintenance is a plus, but not required
- Basic knowledge of cleaning solutions and equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour certification or similar safety training
