As a Dialysis Unit Assistant, you will play a crucial part in supporting our clinical team and ensuring a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for our patients undergoing dialysis treatments. Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with patient care activities under direct supervision, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and maintain dialysis treatment areas, including setting up equipment and ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor and replenish supplies in patient care areas, treatment rooms, and other designated locations.
- Transport patients within the unit as needed, ensuring their safety and dignity.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, answering phones, and maintaining patient records.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of equipment and patient care areas.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and privacy policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and staff.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient mobility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (can be obtained upon hire).
- Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare.
