Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in High Voltage (HV) systems to join our innovative team in Cambridge, MA. This role will involve designing, developing, and testing high voltage power systems, components, and related infrastructure for cutting-edge projects. You will work within a dynamic environment, contributing to critical defense and aerospace applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test high voltage power supplies, pulse power systems, and related components.
  • Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings for HV systems.
  • Perform simulations and calculations to ensure system performance, reliability, and safety under various operating conditions.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of HV equipment in laboratory and field environments.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the integration and commissioning of HV systems into larger platforms and products.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in high voltage system design and analysis
  • Experience with power electronics and pulse power systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols for HV applications
  • Familiarity with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, HV probes, multimeters)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems or High Voltage Engineering
  • Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) considerations in HV design
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink for power system modeling
  • Prior experience in the aerospace, defense, or energy industries
  • Knowledge of national and international HV standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE)
