Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Room (ER) Nurses to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity for internationally trained nurses as this position is LMIA approved and offers comprehensive visa sponsorship. As an ER Nurse at Huntington Hospital, you will provide critical care to patients in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients upon arrival to the emergency department, performing rapid and accurate initial assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs, medical history, and physician orders.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with medical procedures as required in an emergency setting.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret diagnostic test results, and recognize changes in patient conditions, escalating concerns appropriately.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, other nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to all hospital policies and infection control standards.
- Respond to emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed.
- Provide compassionate support to patients and families during stressful and critical situations.
Required Skills
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure in California.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Room/Department setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- PALS certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic).
- Previous experience working in a Magnet® recognized facility.
