Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Equine Medicine & Rehab Intern to join our dedicated team in Toronto. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced equine veterinary care, focusing on both internal medicine and rehabilitation techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with board-certified veterinarians and experienced veterinary technicians, contributing to patient care, diagnostics, treatment plans, and rehabilitation protocols. This is an immersive, on-site learning experience designed for individuals passionate about equine health and eager to build a career in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with daily patient rounds, examinations, and treatment administration.
- Support diagnostic procedures, including imaging (radiography, ultrasound) and laboratory sample collection.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized rehabilitation programs, including hydrotherapy, therapeutic exercises, and modality application.
- Monitor patient progress, maintain accurate medical records, and communicate findings to the veterinary team.
- Assist with client education regarding treatment plans and home care instructions.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment.
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities, including case discussions, seminars, and practical skill development.
Required Skills
- Passion for equine medicine and rehabilitation.

- Basic understanding of animal anatomy and physiology (from coursework or related experience).

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a veterinary technician program, pre-veterinary program, or related animal science degree.
- Previous experience volunteering or working with horses in a stable, farm, or veterinary setting.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and medical record keeping systems.
