Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facility Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of a prominent commercial high-rise property in Hobart. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of the building, managing vendor relationships, supervising on-site staff, and maintaining high standards of tenant satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of building systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of facility operations, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and capital projects.
  • Oversee building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and life safety systems.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and repair solutions.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external vendors and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
  • Respond to tenant requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supervise and train on-site facility staff and contractors.
  • Implement and maintain energy efficiency programs and sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on facility performance, budget, and compliance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in facility management, particularly within commercial high-rise properties.
  • Strong knowledge of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Property Management, or a related field.
