Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic operating room team in Ogden, UT. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside surgeons and nurses, providing essential support to ensure safe and efficient surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field, including instrument tables and supplies, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies efficiently.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe surgical environment throughout the procedure.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation prior to surgery.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety.
- Transport specimens to the laboratory and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist with operating room turnover, cleaning, and restocking supplies after each procedure.
- Adhere strictly to all aseptic techniques, safety protocols, and infection control policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with surgical team members to ensure seamless patient care.
Required Skills
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and sterile processing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure surgical environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to understand and meticulously follow verbal and written instructions.
- Eligibility to obtain or hold a valid Surgical Technologist license or certification in the State of Utah.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital setting.
- Experience across various surgical specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, or cardiovascular surgery.
- Prior experience working effectively within a multicultural and diverse team environment.
