Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Flat Pack Assembler to join our casual retail support team in Tweed Heads. In this flexible role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently assembling various flat-pack furniture and products for our store displays and customer orders. You will play a key part in ensuring our showroom is well-presented and that customers receive high-quality, ready-to-use items. This position requires someone with a keen eye for detail, good practical skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Assemble a wide range of flat-pack furniture, shelving, and other retail products according to manufacturer instructions.
- Ensure all assembled items meet quality standards and are safe for display and use.
- Assist in maintaining the tidiness and organisation of display areas, ensuring products are well-presented.
- Help manage incoming flat-pack stock, assisting with unpacking and organisation.
- Provide basic assistance to customers regarding product assembly inquiries when required.
- Adhere to all store safety procedures and guidelines, particularly when handling tools and products.
- Work collaboratively with the retail team to support general store operations as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and accurately follow complex assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools (screwdrivers, Allen keys, wrenches, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good physical stamina, capable of standing, lifting, bending, and carrying items as required.
- Reliability and a flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
- Effective communication skills and a friendly, helpful demeanour.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new assembly techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment.
- Basic knowledge of various hardware products and tools.
- A passion for DIY, home improvement, or product assembly.
