Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Freight Forwarding Manager to lead our operations in Belfast. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of our freight forwarding services, ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and team leadership. We are committed to supporting international talent, and a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) will be provided for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily freight forwarding operations for air, sea, and road freight.
- Manage and lead a team of freight forwarding professionals, providing guidance and development.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant international and national customs regulations and shipping laws.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, carriers, and service providers.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Handle escalated customer inquiries and resolve complex operational issues.
- Prepare and present reports on operational performance, market trends, and team achievements.
- Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 48 months of experience in freight forwarding management.
- Strong understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in freight management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in freight forwarding or logistics.
- Experience with a global logistics provider.
- Knowledge of specific trade lanes relevant to the UK/EU.
