Job Description

Are you a motivated student eager to gain practical experience in the dynamic construction industry? Mount Isa Regional Constructors Pty Ltd is seeking a Junior Project Coordinator to join our team. This part-time role is perfect for a student looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to significant regional projects. No prior construction experience is required; we are looking for enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and strong organizational skills. You will support our project managers and teams, helping to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Help prepare project documentation, including reports, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain project files, both physical and digital, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Participate in team meetings, taking minutes and tracking action items.
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors under supervision.
  • Monitor project progress and assist in identifying potential delays or issues.
  • Support the procurement process by assisting with quotes and order tracking.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the project team as needed.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant tertiary program (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Architecture).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High level of initiative and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of construction principles or terminology (gained through studies).
  • Previous experience in an administrative or support role (volunteer or paid).
