Job Description
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Camera Operator with a strong focus on media production and live events to join our growing team. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and a passion for visual storytelling. You will be responsible for operating various camera equipment to capture engaging footage for a diverse range of projects, including corporate videos, promotional content, live events, and community initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate professional video cameras, tripods, and related equipment to capture high-quality footage for various projects.
- Set up and break down camera equipment, ensuring all gear is properly maintained and handled with care.
- Work closely with directors, producers, and clients to understand project requirements and creative vision.
- Execute camera movements, framing, and shot compositions effectively to tell a compelling story.
- Monitor audio levels and lighting conditions during shoots to ensure optimal quality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with camera and related equipment on location.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver footage within specified deadlines.
- Assist with basic post-production tasks such as logging footage and file management.
- Travel to various event locations and client sites within the Bundaberg region and occasionally beyond.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating professional video cameras (DSLR, Mirrorless, Cinema Cameras).
- Solid understanding of camera settings, lenses, lighting, and audio recording principles.
- Ability to frame shots creatively and execute smooth camera movements.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong visual aesthetic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
- Valid Australian driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Film, Television Production, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Experience with live streaming setups and multi-camera operations.
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software.
- Experience with drone operation and CASA certification.
- Portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous camera operation work.
