Job Description

SA Recycling in Temecula, CA is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Junkyard Magnet Operator (Trainee). This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone with no prior experience to learn valuable skills in heavy equipment operation, specifically operating a large magnet crane to sort and move ferrous metals. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs to learn the safe and efficient operation of magnet-equipped heavy machinery.
- Operate industrial magnets to lift, sort, and move various types of ferrous metals and scrap materials.
- Conduct pre-operation safety checks and routine inspections of equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with other team members regarding material flow and operational needs.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and cleaning as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the yard operations.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and ability to learn complex machinery operation quickly.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (will be developed through training).
- Physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- No prior experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in machinery.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Prior experience working in an outdoor, industrial, or construction environment (not required for entry-level, but a plus).
