Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Mechatronics Engineering Intern to join our Automated Systems team in Rochester, NY. This internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of mechatronics, working alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects involving automated equipment and robotic systems. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, analysis, and testing of mechatronic components and integrated automated systems.
- Support the troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of existing robotic and automation equipment.
- Contribute to the development of control algorithms and programming for various mechanical and electrical systems.
- Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support project objectives and system improvements.
- Document designs, procedures, and test results, ensuring clear and comprehensive technical records.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechatronic solutions into larger projects.
- Research new technologies and methodologies to enhance automation capabilities and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computer science principles.
- Basic proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical design.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, MATLAB) for control or data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong desire to learn and apply new technical skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic or personal project experience involving robotics, automation, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi) or PLCs.
- Experience with circuit design and analysis tools.
- Understanding of sensor technologies and data acquisition systems.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
