Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to join our team at our Wavertree care home. As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our residents throughout the night. This involves assisting with personal care, monitoring health, and providing emotional support, all while maintaining dignity and promoting independence during their stay with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting during night hours.
  • Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the senior staff immediately.
  • Assist residents with their nightly routines, ensuring a peaceful and comfortable environment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care plans and records.
  • Support residents with medication administration as per training and care plans.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to call bells and any resident needs.
  • Ensure the care home environment remains clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and residents.
  • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere within the home.

Required Skills

  • Previous experience in a care setting (minimum 6 months) or a strong desire to learn and develop in care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Understanding of privacy and dignity in care.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working night shifts in a care environment.
