Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Oil and Gas Engineer to join our dynamic team in Washington, Sunderland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical projects within the energy sector, focusing on the design, analysis, and optimization of oil and gas infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses for oil and gas facilities and pipelines.
- Develop and review technical specifications, datasheets, and design documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including project managers, environmental specialists, and other engineers.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Provide technical support during commissioning and operational phases.
- Participate in client meetings and communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
- Strong understanding of oil and gas production, processing, and transportation systems.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ISO).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
- Experience with FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and detailed design projects.
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and safety critical systems.
- Experience with hydraulic analysis and flow assurance studies.
- Previous experience working on projects in the North Sea region.
