Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Panel Beater to join our thriving workshop in Gungahlin. This role focuses primarily on insurance-related collision repairs, requiring a meticulous eye for detail and proficiency in various panel beating techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing damage, performing high-quality repairs, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and insurer requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assess vehicle damage and prepare comprehensive repair plans for insurance claims.
- Perform chassis alignment, panel replacement, and repair work to the highest standards.
- Execute mig/tig welding, spot welding, and other metal fabrication tasks.
- Utilise appropriate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and insurance assessors.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and workshop policies.
- Conduct quality control checks on all completed work to ensure client satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater, particularly with insurance work.
- Proficiency in various panel beating techniques, including dent removal, panel shaping, and replacement.
- Competence in welding (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding) and metal fabrication.
- Strong understanding of vehicle body structures and repair methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and technical diagrams.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification as a Panel Beater.
- I-CAR certification or similar industry training.
- Experience with specific chassis alignment systems (e.g., Car-O-Liner, Chief).
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Audatex, Mitchell).
