Job Description
Are you passionate about photography and eager to learn the technical skills behind creating stunning images? Lifetouch in Kingsville, Texas is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Photography Studio Lighting Assistant. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to ‘Learn the Trade’ from experienced professionals. You’ll work closely with our lead photographers, assisting with studio setup, lighting adjustments, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our clients. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training. This flexible position offers a unique opportunity to develop a valuable skill set in a creative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead photographers with the precise setup and adjustment of studio lighting equipment for various photo sessions.
- Prepare the studio space before each session, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for clients.
- Help maintain and care for all studio equipment, including lights, backdrops, props, and cameras.
- Support photographers in posing subjects and creating a comfortable, engaging atmosphere for clients.
- Learn and apply different lighting techniques, equipment operation, and studio best practices.
- Provide general operational support for the studio, including greeting clients and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Strong genuine interest in photography and studio work.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.
- Physical ability to lift and move studio equipment, typically up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Basic familiarity with cameras or an understanding of studio environments is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, which may include evenings and weekends, based on studio scheduling needs.
