Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Pigery Labourer at our Blacktown facility. This is an ongoing, full-time position offering comprehensive on-the-job training, making it an ideal opportunity for those new to the agricultural sector or looking for a stable career with excellent growth potential. You will play a crucial role in the daily care and management of our pigs, contributing to a healthy and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily feeding and watering routines for pigs across various stages of growth.
  • Clean and maintain pig pens, sheds, and general facility areas to high hygiene standards.
  • Assist with animal movements, sorting, and handling procedures.
  • Monitor pigs for signs of illness or injury and report observations to supervisors.
  • Operate basic farm equipment (e.g., pressure washers, feeders) after appropriate training.
  • Adhere strictly to all biosecurity protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Support general farm maintenance tasks as required.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • A strong willingness to learn and follow instructions diligently.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a farm environment with livestock.
  • Basic communication skills to interact with team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a farm, animal husbandry, or outdoor manual labour role (advantageous but not required).
  • A basic understanding of animal welfare principles.
  • Current Australian driver's license.
