Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PR Manager to join our corporate communications team in Sunderland. This role is crucial in shaping and executing our public relations strategy, enhancing our brand reputation, and managing media relations across the UK. The ideal candidate will be a creative storyteller with a deep understanding of the media landscape, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in securing high-profile coverage. You will be responsible for developing compelling narratives, building strong relationships with journalists and influencers, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with Sage’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies and campaigns aligned with business objectives.
- Manage media relations, including proactive outreach, press release drafting, and interview coordination.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, industry analysts, and influencers.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations.
- Serve as a spokesperson for the company when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, executive leadership) to ensure consistent messaging.
- Manage crisis communications and develop rapid response strategies.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in public relations, ideally within a corporate or agency setting.
- Proven track record of successful media placements and campaign execution.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and analytics tools.
- Strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
