Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Public Transit Bus Cleaner to join our night shift team in Boston, MA. This entry-level position is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our bus fleet, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for our passengers and operators. We offer comprehensive training, so no prior experience is required, just a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of public transit buses according to established procedures and schedules.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the bus.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum bus floors and seating areas.
- Wipe down and disinfect seats, grab bars, windows, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize driver's compartments.
- Restock supplies such as hand sanitizer dispensers (if applicable).
- Report any damage, defects, or maintenance issues observed during cleaning to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently during night shift hours.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and follow cleaning procedures.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role (though not required).
