Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and physically capable individuals to join our installation teams as a Solar Panel Installation Labourer. This role is crucial for delivering clean, affordable energy solutions to homes across various regions. Due to the nature of our work, significant travel within the assigned service area is a requirement, with a high demand for skilled and reliable professionals. You will work outdoors, often on rooftops, performing physically demanding tasks. Full training on solar specific installation techniques and safety protocols will be provided, but a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety are paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of solar panels, equipment, and materials at job sites.
- Prepare job sites, including setting up safety equipment, staging materials, and ensuring a clean work area.
- Perform basic site clean-up, material handling, and waste removal.
- Support lead installers and electricians in mounting and wiring solar panels on various roof types.
- Safely work at heights and on various roof pitches and types for extended periods.
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety guidelines, regulations, and best practices.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (drills, wrenches, etc.).
- Travel to various job sites daily within the designated service area, which may include extended driving.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while representing Sunrun.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks consistently.
- Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work effectively and safely in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the service region as required.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliable transportation to the designated meeting point or first job site daily.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience (6 months+) in construction, roofing, general labour, or similar physically demanding roles.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience working outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Prior experience in solar installation is a significant plus but not required.
