Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our dynamic product development team in Sunderland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with engineering teams, product managers, and various stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple technical projects from initiation through to closure, adhering to Agile methodologies.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical teams, product managers, and other departments.
- Ensure technical solutions align with architectural standards and business objectives.
- Conduct regular project reviews and report on project status to stakeholders.
- Manage vendor relationships and external project dependencies when applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
- Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
- Experience in risk management and change management.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe Agilist).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with financial software or ERP systems.
- Experience working in a global or distributed team environment.
