Job Description

Are you passionate about food and eager to kickstart your culinary career? The Finnieston is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Trainee Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals with no prior kitchen experience. We are committed to providing comprehensive, hands-on training from day one, guiding you through all aspects of professional cooking, food preparation, and kitchen operations. You’ll learn from experienced chefs in a fast-paced, friendly, and supportive environment, mastering skills that will form the foundation of a successful career in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients.
  • Learn and execute basic cooking techniques under supervision.
  • Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing storage areas.
  • Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and inventory management.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.
  • Support the culinary team during service, preparing components and garnishes as instructed.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and taking on new tasks.
  • Adhere to the restaurant's quality standards and recipes.
