Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in comprehensive training programs on data collection methodologies, statistical software, and economic analysis techniques.
  • Assist senior analysts in the collection, cleaning, and preliminary processing of economic data from various sources.
  • Support the validation and quality assurance of datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Conduct basic statistical analysis under supervision, identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Prepare preliminary charts, tables, and reports to aid in the visualization of economic data.
  • Learn to interpret and apply relevant government statistical standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of routine data summaries and contributing to larger statistical publications.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments on various projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all data processed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., economics, mathematics, statistics, business, public administration) is an asset.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel).
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in data analysis and statistics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications
