Job Description

National Steel Car is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Trainee Forklift Driver. No prior experience is required! We are committed to your success and will provide full, comprehensive training, including funding for your forklift operator licence. You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs, including classroom and on-the-job instruction.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures related to forklift operation and material handling.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently after obtaining certification, under direct supervision initially.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials and finished products.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support inventory management by accurately moving and tracking materials.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and production schedules.
Required Skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs as required in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting (not required, but a plus).
- A valid G class driver’s license or equivalent (asset).
